Booking Online

Booking

Book Online: Booking online enables you to receive a ticket via email, which can be printed or shown on your mobile phone when required for ticket checking.

Book at Station: You may book a ticket at Nong Khai train station, and it will cost less. However, it may cost you in travel costs, and it takes up useful travel and enjoyment time.

The train options from Nong Khai to Bangkok require you to book in advance for at least 2 hours prior to travel and within 90 days.

Booking Online

Book well in advance, especially if you require a sleeper berth or 1st class.

You can also go along to Nong Khai railway station to book a ticket in advance, which will be slightly cheaper than booking online. However, I had to stay in Nong Khai longer before because the trains were fully booked, which is now avoidable with the online booking option.

Which Train Service?

The most common and best suited for most travellers is the special express 26 overnight service. It’s more comfortable (newer train type), and you can sleep most of the journey.

You may also take any of the other trains that will cost less, and if you wish to view the country by train, then the Express 76 is a great option. Keep in mind that if you’re going 3rd it’s very basic.
