Train Booking Guide

Advanced bookings must be made for long journeys (the overnights) and can be made online or at a station’s booking office.

It’s best to check out booking options in advance and plan ahead. You may book seats 60 days in advance on the overnight sleeper trains and no less than 2 hours before departure. (See Thailand Train Booking Guide).

Bangkok (Hua Lamphong) Railway Station Guide

Hua Lamphong, the main train station of Bangkok is over 110 years old. It’s huge inside with a half dome roof and 14 platforms.

The station’s location is convenient for the backpackers of ‘Khoa San Rd’ and has an MRT (underground) station. There’s an office available for foreigners to book tickets and tourists should have no problem at all with using the station (it’s English language friendly). (See Hua Lamphong Guide).
