Top 8 Hua Hin Night Markets Worth Checking Out
-- Last Updated on August 14, 2023 by JonesyHua Hin is one destination in Thailand that has managed to maintain much of its traditional and local-style charm.. This includes a plethora of local markets, and once evening time comes around there is exploration of a different kind to consider.
Night markets are popular in Thailand and Hua Hin has a decent selection of them in and around the central areas of town. They are usually busy places in the evening and can be great for shopping, eating, drinking, wandering, and generally soaking up the evening vibes of the place.
As they are such a popular attraction in Hua Hin town, here is a brief guide to the top 8 night markets worth checking out.
1. Hua Hin Night Market
Hua Hin Night Market is considered one of the main evening shopping venues due to its size and location. Everything is on offer here from food and drinks (including cocktails or beer) to clothes, accessories, arts, crafts, beachwear, Buddhist items, and other souvenirs, etc.
A section of Petchkasem Road where it intersects DechaNuchit Road is closed off and transformed into the market at 6:00 pm. By 7:00 pm things can already be bustling, with the street fair lined with vendors selling seafood at reasonable prices. It is the wide range of various types of food on offer at the market that make it one of the main draws of an evening.

— Operating Hours: 6 pm-12 am
2. Hua Hin Night Bazaar (Daytime ChatChai Market)
Hua Hin Night Bazaar isn’t quite as big as the Hua Hin Night Market, so it is somewhat easier to navigate. This market is apparently known as Chatchai Market during the daytime when it opens until 4 pm.
Although this is more of a local than a touristy-type spot it can still get very lively and the market is another favourite local place for seafood. If you turn up here hungry you won’t be disappointed, but there’s still plenty of other stuff to see.
Visitors will find discount clothing stalls and the usual Thai souvenir items, so this is not a bad place to pick up a few gifts or get some extra beachwear. You’ll also find massage services available around the bazaar including a fish pedicure.

—Operating Hours: 6.00 pm-11.00 pm
3. The Cicada Market
The Cicada Market is very close to the Tamarind Market and is similar in some aspects. Both are a little different to some of the other markets we have so far described in the town, as they have more of a modern feel and a focus on art.
The Cicada Market brings together food, art, crafts, and artistic live performances amidst some relaxing gardens with a laid-back atmosphere. The layout is divided into four sections, namely: Art a la Mode (the biggest), Art Indoors, Art of Act and Art of Eating. The names of the sections and the overall context gives you some idea what to expect here.
Vendors in the largest section are selling largely clothing, handmade accessories, and decorative items. Art Indoors is where you’ll find art such as paintings and sculptures for sale, and of course the Art of Eating section involves all kinds of food including Western-style options and deserts.
In the Art of Act section you’ll find local talent showcasing their skills. This can include anything from dance groups to bands and theatre, on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

—Operating Hours: 4.00 pm-11.00 pm Fri-Sat, 4.00 pm-10.00 pm Sundays
4. The Tamarind Market
On a visit to this market you might notice the surrounding trees that inspired the venue name. This Hua Hin night market is close to the beach and operates only on weekends.
As is common with many of the night markets in the town, this one also has two or three distinct sections and the layout is grid-like. At the front of the market you’ll find an array of dining options in both snack and meal formats and there is a large outdoor seating area for dining.
There is usually some form of live entertainment in this seated dining area/beer garden where many people congregate just to take a breather before or after a spot of shopping or grab a cold drink. At the back end of the market you’ll encounter more of a ‘local’ vibe where the food is not so ‘dressed up’ as that at the front of the venue but of course is equally as palatable and slightly cheaper.
There are also all the other standard market goods on offer here such as clothes, and accessories, etc, and this is one of a couple of markets in the town that have a modern, artsy feel to them in contrast to the more local-like affairs.

5. The Grand Night Market
This Hua Hin night market is another popular local affair and it operates Wednesday through Saturday just next to the Grand Hotel, just a few blocks south of the main town centre. The market has more of a shopping mall feel to it and is set in an air-conditioned, indoor space.
There are fewer tourists thus the usual array of souvenirs is not so prominent, and you might even find the vibe here is more akin to a flea market. A couple of stand-out points for this market are the various health food shops, hand-made scents, soaps, and lotions, and lots of small Thai restaurants where you’ll find some less-common items.
The goods include clothing and accessories, fruit and other snack vendors and rows of stores and stands organised into two main sections. Most of the usual market items are typically found in the front section, with the other one presenting a more artsy vibe.
The market is a good place to find handmade items along with the usual rows of stores, restaurant/bars and another pedicure fish spa. As usual the street food vendors are plentiful and feature mostly Thai cuisine, snacks, and deserts.

6. Huana Market
This is another local-style spot not strictly your typical tourist night market. Huana Market is thus a great place to check out something a bit more authentic when it comes to local culture and cuisine.
The market begins to rouse interest in the evenings when locals are perusing some of the stalls with dinner in mind. The market is centrally-located off Petchkasem Road and vendors have the usual mix of clothing, jewellery and accessories.
The food seems to be the main draw here again though, and you’ll find everything from fruit and vegetables to meats and a vast selection of seafood so fresh it is still alive.

Operating Hours: 2 pm-8 pm
7. Pai Mai Market (The Tuesday Market)
This night market in Hua Hin is also known as the Tuesday Market due to its formerly once-weekly regularity. It has a massive range of food and features a garden-type food court with live entertainment.
Pai Mai market is one of the biggest in the town and is fairly central being Klong Road near the driving range. The goods on display include a decent selection of clothing, shoes, and accessories, as well as other items such as tools, car accessories, and plenty of other stuff.

—Operating Hours: 5 pm-10 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays
8. Chatsila Night Market
The Chatsila Night Market operates every evening and is easy to get to. There are two main sections of the market, one consisting of five buildings with intersecting basements and a large wooden terrace. Inside this small complex visitors can find a gallery featuring historical photography of the area and other artsy touches and displays.
The second section is where common market items like clothing, accessories, shoes, various handmade items, home decor, and plenty more can be found. This is an established and consistent local market good for gift shopping, crafts, food and beverages.
